How long will I stay red after my hair transplant?
We are often asked this question by men who are worried about post-op redness, particularly in regards to returning to work.
The truth is, post-op redness in both the donor area and the recipient area varies from person to person, but it is a reality you must confront. Typically, African Americans and other men with darker/tanner skin will experience the least amount of post-op redness with a faster return to normal. Caucasian men with very pale skin will also heal perfectly fine, but they may experience some lingering redness for slightly longer before returning to normal.
In extreme cases, redness can last for 2 or 3 months, however that is not the norm, and those men will also return to normal in the end.
