James A. Harris, MD, FISHRS, FACS is an internationally renowned hair transplant surgeon and recognized innovator in the field of hair restoration. Actively participating at the forefront of hair loss and replacement research, Dr. Harris has pioneered and patented an advanced method of follicular unit extraction (FUE), called the Harris S.A.F.E™ (Surgically Advanced Follicular Extraction) System. This method provides FUE grafts of the highest quality by minimizing follicle damage. He was also the lead consulting physician on the development of the ARTAS™ robot, an image- and algorithm-guided system that uses robotics to make the best selection of follicular units for each individual. ARTAS utilizes the Harris S.A.F.E.™ System dissecting system.

He was the chair of the FUE Advancement Committee and leads the organization’s research efforts in the field of FUE.

He is a published author of both medical and consumer publications and teaches hair transplantation to physicians from around the globe. As director of the Hair Sciences Center of Colorado (HSC), he has established a practice dedicated exclusively to providing the very best hair loss treatments, including medical and surgical treatments for hair loss. Dr. Harris personally consults with every patient and is always the physician performing the surgery at HSC.
