FAQ’s

1. Is hair transplant permanent?

The hair transplanted will remain and grow for the rest of one’s life. You can cut it, style it, shave it, and swim in it. After all, it’s your own hair.

2. Is the procedure painful?

Most patients report very little or no pain whatsoever. The procedure is minimally invasive, and a local anesthetic is used.

3. Will I be awake during the procedure?

Yes. You will spend the afternoon watching movies or using your ipad while we move healthy follicles from the back and sides of your head (donor region) to the areas of need.

4. How long does the procedure take?

The procedure starts early morning and lasts through the afternoon. We build in time for meals, snacks and breaks.

5. What is the recovery time?

There’s really no “downtime” associated with the procedure. Although you can go back to work right away, many patients opt to take a day or two off before returning to work. The donor and recipient area is generally back to normal within 5-7 days.

6. What is the after care or downtime?

For a few days we ask you to take it easy and not work out, don’t wash your hair or wear hats or helmets, stuff like that. But you can resume most daily activities such as working, shopping, driving, etc. the next day

7. When will I see results?

Some patients see growth as early as three months, and it typically takes 9-12 months for most or all of the hair to fully grow in.

8. How much does it cost?

The cost of your procedure will depend on the amount of hair loss and your restoration goals. This will all be assessed during your consultation.

9. What is the best age for a hair transplant?

Generally speaking, for men, the older one is, the better the candidate for transplantation. This is because the balding pattern is likely to be evident, allowing the surgeon to properly plan for the procedure. This ensures a more positive result.

Pharmaceuticals, like Rogaine and Propecia, can be used by males over the age of eighteen. In general, these medications, which seem to be more effective at preserving existing hair than growing new ones, are most beneficial for younger men in the early stages of hair loss
