Hair Restoration: Prevention Is Better Than Cure

Prevent Hair Loss

It's better to prevent hair loss than attempt to regrow it later. Here are some tips on how to keep your existing hair looking as good as possible.

Hair should not be washed every day

Shampoo not only removes dirt and sweat from your hair but also removes sebum. Sebum is a natural oil that makes your hair manageable and shiny to the proper extent. Sebum overproduction leads to grey hair.

However, you probably do not have to strip your hair everyday — if you were to wash it every other day, you probably would notice a difference in your hair’s appearance. If you can’t wait a day between washes, use either a shampoo for dry hair or a baby shampoo. They are both gentle enough to clean hair without their natural oils being removed.

Try to have colder baths

Your hair could be scalded by the hot water you use to rinse your body in the shower. Cold showers have several health benefits, one of which may be accelerated hair growth. Rinse your hair under a cooler water temperature for a minute or two after shampooing and conditioning it in the shower to revitalize the strands and refresh the scalp.

Avoid air-drying hair

Because your hair loses too much moisture during the drying process, it may become brittle and difficult to style after you wash it. After you’ve washed your hair, wrap it in a cloth or towel instead of letting it air dry.

Use a silk pillowcase if you sleep with wet hair to keep the moisture from your hair from absorbing into your pillows. According to a 2011 study, leaving your hair wet for long periods causes damage similar to blow-drying.

Try coconut oil

Coconut oil is an emollient that is found naturally in the body. That is, if your hair strands have been damaged by heat or the sun, they will fill in the gaps. Coconut oil is particularly effective at penetrating hair fibers, according to a 2005 study.

Coconut oil improves the overall appearance of your hair by smoothing each strand individually. Warm coconut oil and apply it to your hair once a week for a deep conditioning treatment.

Wear a hat while going outside

UV rays can cause damage to your skin as well as to your hair shaft. When you have dry hair, the amount of time you expose it to these rays should be limited. Wearing a hat during your daily activities helps avoid excessive exposure to the sun. If UV rays have already damaged your hair, it can help repair the damage by applying pure aloe vera gel.

Try essential oils

Moroccan argan oil has become a popular dry hair home remedy. We have little information on how or if this remedy is working, but it’s easy to try. A couple of drops of argan oil can make it look polished and supple at the ends of your hair. Essential oils such as peppermint and lavender can help prevent hair loss and breakage.

Using argan oil, peppermint oil, lavender oil and a portable oil such as cocoon oil to produce a fast spritz hair perfume, your hair can be less dry in the long run.

Get a trim

If your hair is too dry, it may need to be restyled with a new haircut. Split ends can make hair difficult to style and contribute to feeling dry or coarse, even if it isn’t very long. Pay a visit to your stylist and have any unhealthy hair weighing down your new hair growth trimmed off. Ask the stylist if they have any recommendations for your hair type and length while you’re there. They might suggest a new styling routine to prevent damage to your hair.

Cut off the heat style of your hair

Heat styling your hair to curl, straighten, or add volume has probably been a part of your daily routine for a long time. It’s also possible that it’s the cause of your hair’s thinning. The hair shaft was examined before and after blow-drying, and the results revealed significant damage to the participants’ hair. To get the best results when blow-drying your hair, keep the dryer at least 6 inches away from your hair shaft.

Fill your diet with antioxidants and omega-3s

Marine proteins can help your hair look shinier and prevent it from thinning out. Increase your intake of marine proteins in your diet to achieve similar results without taking a supplement. This includes the following:

● Sardines

● Tuna

● Mackerel

● Oysters

● Salmon

All of these are high in peptides and omega-3 fatty acids, which can make your hair look shinier. To combat oxidative stress, which causes hair to age, you may want to increase your antioxidant intake. Antioxidant-dense foods include the following:

● Tomatoes

● Broccoli

● Blueberries

● Kidney beans

● Walnuts

Add vitamin supplements to your diet

You already know that specific vitamins are necessary for your body’s nourishment, but some vitamins also have a direct impact on the health of your hair and nails. Vitamin A, vitamin C, biotin (also known as vitamin H), and mineral iron contribute to healthier hair. Some people take prenatal vitamins solely for the way they affect their hair because they contain all of the above vitamins. Taking supplements containing only biotin to improve the appearance of your hair is also popular right now. Recent research, on the other hand, contradicts the notion that biotin has a significant impact. You might also want to look into taking marine protein supplements, which have been shown to improve your hair’s health.
